What is a Certificate of Inspection (COI)?
Certificate of Inspection, mostly known as rideshare inspection or booked hire inspection is a requirement for all rideshares drivers in Queensland. The inspection is similar to a Safety Certificate. It is a safety check to ensure the vehicle is safe to be on the road in accordance with Queensland Transport Code of Practice.
How long are certification of inspection current for?
A COI will take approximately 45 minutes. At the completion of the inspection, a detailed report will be issued and emailed to you.
If the vehicle fails the safety inspection, you have 14 days to rectify the problem and call us back out for a re-inspection.
The regulation requires you to have a yearly inspection COI.

What is a pre- purchase inspection?
A Pre-Purchase Inspection is a comprehensive report of the condition of a vehicle. Even though the vehicle may have a Roadworthy Certificate, it does not mean that the vehicle is mechanically sound. Whether it be accident damage, poorly performed repairs or just neglect, having the vehicle you are interested in checked by a qualified mechanic it can save you money and ensure you are not buying a lemon car.

- Ensure safety certificate has not expired or exceeded the 2,000km allowed or 2 months (whichever comes first)

What is a Roadworthy Certificate?
Roadworthy certificate, mostly known as RWC is a requirement in Queensland for all vehicles being offered for sale, transferring ownership or for re-registration purposes.
This inspection ensures the safety standard of the vehicle is in accordance with Queensland Transport Code of Practice.

Licensed motor dealers: Certificates are valid for 3 months or 1000km (whichever comes first) from the date of issue.
All other sellers: Certificates are valid for 2 months or 2000km (whichever comes first) from the date of issue.
